Hi guys,

I know it's possible to put a password on a Microsoft Word document (although I've never done it), but is it possible to put one on an entire folder of MP4 files? If so, could someone walk me through it? Thanks very much!

Becky

I found your question really interesting, so I did a google search on "password folder".

It turns out that you really can't, at least in windows machines. Here's an article that gives a couple of options from pc world.

In case the link doesn't work, the URL is http://www.pcworld.com/article/230946/Passwords.html

Hope this helps.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for that article! I read all the suggestions, and I have a couple more questions. Since I'd really rather not pay for third-party software, it looks like my best option is either to restrict certain users from the folders I want to keep private or install 7zip and use that. Option 1 would require me to have more than one user account, which I've never done before. I'm not even really sure how that works. Do I set up a second account for other people to use and restrict that account from the folders and keep the first account for my use only? If I go with option 2, would I have to zip and unzip the files every time I want to access them?

Thanks,
Becky
